OUR STORY


UrbanAfriq was founded by Prince Gbeku, with the goal of making traditional, authentic African designs easily accessible to everyone while simultaneously uplifting the economy and local communities in Ghana.

As a college student involved in the African student association, Prince searched high and low for traditional African wear, but discovered that the few available were of inferior quality and made in non-African countries, without the unique taste, craftsmanship, and impeccable fit that authentic African designs possess. From this dilemma, a full-fledged company and social enterprise was born.

After just a few years of operation, we now own a dedicated factory in Ghana and actively train, equip, and employ local talent to produce beautiful, authentic African apparel. Our clothing is custom-tailored to your unique measurements, meaning each piece purchased is 1/1 and fits you (and just you) perfectly.

We embrace the traditionally modern, manifested in all of our creations. With each piece, the richness of African culture is married with modern, style-conscious designs to create clothing for every occasion. DESIGN & MATERIALS


We source the highest-quality, premium materials for all of our pieces. After intensive in-house wear testing, our clothing currently pulls from these four core materials: Suiting Fabric, African Wax Print, Shaking Fabric, and Chiffon. Which material(s) are used depends on the intended style and fit of the piece – for example, authentic African Wax Print yields a stiffer, more fitted look that accentuates your silhouette. We strive to provide options for every look and occasion, and launch new styles every season. How to Take Your Measurements

Do you offer returns?

We are currently unable to offer returns but will work with you to help rectify any alterations that may be needed. Simply email returns@urbanafriq.com to get your process started.

Where are your products shipped from?

All our products are sourced and produced from our production facility in Ghana, West Africa.

How long before I receive my product?

Your custom designs are tailored and shipped within 72 hours of receiving your completed order. Please allow 7 to 10 business days for expedited shipping and 14 days for regular shipping.

How do I clean and take care of my fabric?

We highly recommend that you hand wash and air dry your fabric where possible. For machine wash, wash cold, wash separately with similar fabric, gentle wash and tumble dry low.

Can I cancel, change or exchange my order?

We begin processing and your tailor starts work immediately your order is received. For this reason, we are unable to offer cancellations, changes or exchanges.

What do I do if my order is damaged?

We do everything in our power to ensure your orders are received in pristine condition. However, mistakes do occur, and if your order is received damaged, we sincerely apologize. Do I need to input measurements each time I place an order?

No, you can avoid having to enter your measurements each time by creating a profile and saving your measurements to the profile. We will automatically use the measurements associated with your account.

I received the wrong goods. What do I do?
